[ Work in progress ] Of the 333 local authorities in England, 16 of them (set to fall to 13 in 2024) are led by an executive Mayor elected by voters. Generally Mayoral decisions can only be overruled by a super-majority of councillors (i.e. 66%). The Mayors are listed below – click on each council name to see the election results.
